Sounds a bit socialistic at this point. But that is the aim of socialistic proponents. Somehow I knew that was wrong so long ago. I was making fun of this concept. It was sarcasm.
Nobody shines in a socialistic or communistic realm. That is the point.
But the song is against a lot of things, certainly materialism.
Maybe the opening lines are against an overly protective government. It that is the case, then I was about 35 years ahead of my time.
Like I have said before, I have not really changed in the past 50 years or so.
So when you look behind yourself, there are many things to contend with. Not all of them are political.
